Boys from Birmingham with their Honda 90s   Camping at Bride right at the North tip of the island drive through small villages mostly sheep farms with narrow laneways to this side of the island and is much quieter less tourists. Had a look at the IOM Motor Museum this morning over 500 vehicles, bikes in a brand new building. 6 x Tesla charging car parks at the front of the museum.  Spent the afternoon at the Bungalow where I watched more qualifying over the top of the mountain. Everyone got through without any dramas.   馃憤馃槑馃弫

Turn up the volume ✅   Started the day with a TT Lap in a bus with James Hillier talking us through a lap, apex’s bumps,     cambers of the road what he does to get the best out of himself & the bike. Qualifying didn’t start till 6:30 so I traveled around and found a camp site northern part of the island for tonight. Watched Qualifying from Sulby school just on the inside and it is one of the fastest parts of the track WOW  馃ぉ   Qualifying from 6:30pm till 9:30pm when the roads are reopened up. it’s daylight till then. Oil was on part of the track and held up a bit of the running but all got through cleanly. It’s still incredible to stand on a rock wall within 2M as the bikes past at over 180+ MPH  馃憤馃槑馃弫 Link to the TT Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0jYKqnhgfAezZyaA6PBh7Kdf8FPBkPqgRU4E6wsawsBVTzw69YnjjJsiuX5NoFJrWl&id=100079543116974

Camino day 10 to Poblaci贸n via Fromista

Mid 18th century lock and canals used to transport wheat until railways made it obsolete. Lock at Fromista (above and below) 14.2metres between upper and lower levels .  The trail followed a canal most of the way from Boadilla to Fromista  An old mud brick building near Boadilla. Mud buildings were common in this area of the Meseta Church with gothic roof structure in Fromista  Well rested this morning the hill just out of Castrojeriz was easily tackled, even with sore blisters on left heel and toes. That was the only elevation for the day, the trail was mostly gravel with larger rocks which required concentration to navigate. A trail stop of coffee and banana at 6km after the hill then coffee and cake at Boadilla, a really nice albergue there. Onto Fromista, a largish town with all the services and 3 historic churches. Only 4 km to Poblaci贸n where I planned to stay at an albergue. It’s a small village and both albergues where closed. (Both pilgrim office and my app showed them but the

Camino day 9 to Castrojeriz

Yesterday May 29 was a day of changing scenery and ancient ruins. Leaving Burgos passing through little villages and entering the Meseta we have left olive groves and vineyards behind. There is still fields of wheat and poppies. Hontanas was a lovely village at the 30 km mark .. in retrospect I should have stayed there, with the sun shing and a relaxed vibe. I decided after a meal to walk to the next town Castrojeriz via San Anton. On the way a storm came in (I just avoided getting drenched ) and my blisters really started to hurt. The last 10 km took 3 hours and when I arrived the two albergues I thought I might stay in were full. There were several albergues on the way into town but I didn’t want to walk a couple of km backwards. I was a bit over it by this stage.. I eventually found a hotel and spent the night there, it was clean quiet and private and I had a lovely meal of seafood paella, then lamb stew (like Gwenda used to make Wakefield chops) and red wine. Ended up a lovely nigh

Arrived around 11pm Saturday night and found a free camping spot just out of Douglas. Only one here so might be back tonight as on a dead end road with very little traffic. Walked pits and all easily to get around as it’s all free just the ticket for the ferry  ⛴ . Drove the track and part of the TT track is one way and no speed limit 16ks of madness I thought I was on the Nordschleife just driving in my mirrors. 馃憤馃槑馃弫
