Camino Day 4 to Los Argos

A wine fountain (free) was an interesting detour for todays walk.

The vineyards in the Ayegui region have been in existence since the 12th century.

Walking from Puente La Reina I walked around 20 km through mainly agricultural area (wheat, and grape vines, olives, canola, potatoes, broad beans. Then at Ayegui I came across a couple of wineries.. the Bodegas Irache wine fountain and museum was a pleasant break.

The wine fountain is for pilgrims to sustain their journey !

I continued on through a couple of small villages, then and then onto the last 12 km stint for the day on an open gravel track with no shade. I arrived in Los Argos tired and with a blister and lost toenail the only results of all of the steep declines over the last few days. Tonight’s accommodation 12€. Dinner at the bar across from the church. Then visited the church and said some prayers.

Km today 43 / Total 138

Sending my thoughts and condolences to Steven Hughes family x I was able to watch the service live-streamed at 3am RIP Steve.
