Windsor Castle

Yesterday May 12 we ventured to Windsor Castle.

We weren’t allowed to photograph inside. We saw staterooms, court rooms, and private quarters currently not in use. All had priceless artwork, rich tapestries on the wall, and painted ceilings which left us in awe.  The rooms were also furnished with ornamental furniture and decorative pieces, commissioned by royalty or received as gifts. We’ve never seen so much decadence.

Then there was the thousands of weapons on display as an historic show of power.

Dean had his photo taken with the ol’ Bill in full weapon kit.

St George’s cathedral on site at Windsor castle is lovely and also overwhelming. We saw the tomb of Queen Elizabeth II.
