Camino Day 16 to Foncebadon
Leaving at first light I didn’t have far to travel for some food. 6km and greeted by this guy has food available for pilgrims for donativo and has been doing this for 14 years. His parting words as I ventured on my way “have nice life” that’s the spirit of Camino captured simply right there.
Approaching Astorga lovely views of the city.
Ancient ruins surprising intact dating back from 100 - 400AD - again I’m loving the Mosiac.
Into Astorga 2 coffees and a snack before exploring the town
Great looking establishment in Astorga CBD
The renowned Gaudi palace
Chapel in Astorga - I’m the tiny dot at bottom of picture
A very old church in Rabanel del Camino
The view from Foncebadon.. in a few kms it’s the highest point on the Camino Francรฉs. Todays walking was mainly flat and uphill but not too exhausting. Staying at parochial albergue, donativo with communal prepared dinner.
