Camino day 18 to O Cebreiro

Yesterday Wednesday June 7 it was my first day of rain whilst walking the Camino. Showers, drizzle then full on rain meant I was soaked by the time I walked 37km from Cacabelos to O Cebreiro. The first 29 km was on tracks through winery region then beside roads following the river. Lovely scenery. The last 8 km was rocky slippery muddy tracks which climbed up to the village of O Cebreiro. Coming into the village it was raining so hard I could not see more than 30 meters in front of me. After a lukewarm shower and dry clothes (the contents of my pack remained dry) the rain cleared and I was able to explore the village, church and have a lovely meal of Galician soup, trout and Santiago cake.

Entry monument into the Galicia region about 500m from O Cebreiro
Behind me is the lookout point ! No visibility on the way in.
A better view after the rain cleared

 Km today 37 / total 628
