Santiago and Negreira

 
Spent some time wandering Santiago old town, checking the shops and watching pilgrims arrive. As you can imagine there are some interesting shops, my 2 favorite were the bakery and Pulpiera (octopus restaurant). There are also hundreds of souvenir shops which don’t interest me at all. 






After a good 24 hours rest I decided to resume my walk: there is an extra 120 km journey to the coast - Finisterre and Muxia. This journey to Lands end is where in ancient times they thought was the end of the earth. 



Starting in the afternoon sun, I experienced a storm later on and arrived in sunshine to Negriera. Steep hills on country roads and trails the 20 km was enough for the day.

Well what a holiday WOW 🤩  After 3 and half months on the road Deb & I decided that we would come home as it’s time. We were blessed with everything we experienced and the people we meet on the way but missing family and friends so time to get back to the best country in the world and this time of year the best part of our country NT Darwin. Frankfurt to Singapore 12.5 hours , 2 hour to changeover then Singapore to Darwin  nearly 5 hours. Arrived in Darwin lovely afternoon 😀 ☀️☀️

Touring Paris Citroen 2CV

  Had a great day with Deb yesterday touring around Paris in a Iconic French car the Citroen 2CV. Simon our driver tour guide a student from the UK that does this job part time was great as he loves driving in Paris. After the tour he dropped us off at the Arc de Triomphe and you and go up to the top for 13 euros ea. We walked straight in as with all the bad press on Paris not many tourists about but French Army everywhere  🚗😎🇫🇷

Valencia

Traveled by train via the coast 4 hours south from Barcelona on Friday 23rd staying in an Airbnb right in the heart of Valencia city.  Valencia is a lot nicer city than Barcelona as less traffic in the inner part of the city with less motorists and more foot traffic. The beautiful old buildings and a thousands of places to eat out makes it a destination for tourists from around the world. Under our Airbnb a garage full of old cars 🤩 Spent 4 days here exploring the city and sights when we fly to Amsterdam to visit Debs dads family. Historical buildings in the main city The arts centre The markets were fabulous with so much delicious and interesting foods    A bike ride today took us to the fabulous beaches of Valencia where I had a swim in the warm Mediterranean Sea.
