Musee D’Orsay and Paris

Musee D’Orsay was the highlight of my Paris visit. Thursday 6 July after a run around a park and a trip to a market near where I was staying in the burbs (couldn’t afford to stay in the CBD for 4 nights ! ). I had the day to myself and spent 6 hours in the Musee D’Orsay seeing up close the works of the impressionists, sculptors, art nouveau, and neo-impressionists.
I chose a Thursday as the museum stays open till 9 pm.
The museum has works dated from 1848 to 1914 and is housed in an old 1900 railway station converted into the museum in 1977.

My favorite artists, Monet, VanGogh, Cezanne, Manet and Renoir had exceptional works on display.

A new favorite in Gustave Caillebotte

The sun was shining when I left the museum so I wandered along the Seine for an up close visit to the Eiffel, then onto the Arc de Triomphe.
