Split our next destination is on the coast along the Adriatic Sea. Very busy this time of year and mostly younger tourists having fun in the sun 🌞. The private boats in the harbour reminds me of Monaco 💰
The city of Split is the second largest in Croatia and was established 1700 years ago.. hence the ancient ruins and buildings that can be seen amongst the more recent structures.
A ‘schoolies’ atmosphere prevails at the beaches close to the centre of town, and in the eateries and markets with hundreds of stalls selling overpriced generic clothes and souvenirs.
We ate out at a beautiful restaurant one night in the old town in an area 800 years old. Deans meal had 24 carat gold leaf as garnish !
not all the beaches were crowded.. a morning run discovery of nearly isolated beach away from main tourist area, with beautiful aqua water.
